Pharmacy Bill expected to be tabled in Parliament this year
The bill will enable the government to control medical cost imposed by the private sector.
The Pharmacy Bill is expected to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat this year after obtaining approval from the Attorney-General, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said.
He said the bill, among others, aimed to provide control on the prices of medicines.
"After this amendment is made, the government will be empowered to control medicines sold in the country," he said when winding up the debate on the motion of thanks on the Royal address by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Dewan Rakyat on Monday.
He said the bill enabled the government to control medical cost imposed by the private sector.
