Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, denied Philippines media allegedly blocked from getting a true picture of ‘Ops Daulat’ in Lahad Datu.
He stressed that the allegations are unfounded because the foreign media is authorized to obtain information.
They are also not restricted to be in the media center at Felda Sahabat to get the latest information.
He said, "I would like to inform you that the cabinet last Wednesday has allowed foreign media, particularly the Philippines media to be at the media center in Felda Sahabat to get the latest information on developments in Lahad Datu and if necessary the army and the police will bring them to areas of operation.”
Meanwhile, the government will further discuss whether to allow Philippines diplomat in the country to visit the Sulu detained terror suspects.
The discussion will involves Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and the Royal Malaysia Police.
Once a decision is made the Philippines diplomats, including ambassador in Kuala Lumpur may be allowed to visit after full interrogations by the security forces on suspects.
Ahmad Zahid said this after launching the program which contributed 120 computers to Chinese and Tamil schools in Bagan Datoh, Perak on Saturday.
