The news of Hutan Melintang, Perak Assemblyman S. Kesavan quitting Party Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) which went viral on social media, remains a question.
Though the Perak Assembly Speaker's office confirmed receiving a letter saying he did quit the party, the PKR said otherwise.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil in a press statement, denied the talks of Kesavan quitting from his position, adding that the bureau had talked to Kesavan over the matter.
"After receiving an explanation from Kesavan, Keadilan confirmed that he had never sent the letter and did not quit the party," he said.
He added that Kesavan had been advised to make a police report on the false letter sent to Perak Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri S.K Devamany's office.
Several PKR leaders also denied the news of S. Kesevan quitting the party.
One of them, Sri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad had denied the rumour which had been circulating online since afternoon, through his Twitter account.
