PKR's Chan Ming Kai claims trial to charge of obstructing police duties

Magistrate Mohd Azhar Hamzah set bail at RM1,000 in one surety and fixed Aug 10 for mention, and for Chan to engage a lawyer.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Indera Kayangan assemblyman, Chan Ming Kai pleaded not guilty at the magistrate's court here to a charge of obstructing the police from carrying out their duties more than two months ago.
He was alleged to have obstructed policemen manning the site of a communication structure construction project by Syarikat Perlis Comm Sdn Bhd at Taman Mutiara, Seriab, from carrying out their duties at 8.30am on April 6.
According to the charge, Chan is said to have stood in the middle of the road at the project site and intercepted a vehicle carrying equipment for the installation of the communication tower, which was under police supervision.‎
