The party's de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced PKR supreme council member Fariz Musa, 43, was named as the candidate in Pekan, Pahang. Fariz is also the head of an PKR linked NGO group called Jingga 13. Also announced, according to reports in The Star online, was that central elections secretariat chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid, 48, will be contesting in Bera. Pahang PKR chief Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman was earlier announced as the Indera Mahkota candidate. Laywer Murnie Hidayah Anuar is to contest in Paya Besar. Former Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh will be defending her seat.
Meanwhile in Penang, the state PKR chief Datuk Mansor Othman reportedly announced that Badrul Hisham Shahrin, or well known as Chegubard, will contest the Sungai Acheh state seat.
