PLUS issues travel advisory for long weekend

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) issued its travel time advisory (TTA) for the period April 30 to May 5 in view of the long weekend due to two public holidays to mark Labour Day on May 1 (Friday) and Wesak Day on May 4 (Monday).
"PLUS expect road users along the North South Expressway to increase dramatically compared to normal weekends," said Plus is a statement, Thursday.
TTA is a staggered travel schedule issued by PLUS to road users, aimed at reducing congestion on the expressways, R&R and Toll plazas.
PLUS also advised road users to get the latest traffic situation through its toll free PLUSLine 1800 88 0000, Twitter PLUSTrafik or 'PLUS Mobile' application on smart phone.
According to TTA for April 30 to May 2, road users from the Klang Valley to Perlis and Kedah (Kangar, Alor Setar) and Johor Selatan (Johor Baharu, Kota Tinggi) are advised to enter the expressway from 6am to 8am.
From Klang Valley to Penang (Kepala Batas, Butterworth, Georgetown and Bayan Lepas) and Johor Utara (Batu Pahat, Segamat and Muar) to enter the expressway between 8am to 11am.
Road users heading to Perak Utara (Taiping, Kuala Kangsar and Gerik) and Melaka (Jasin, Melaka City) can start their journey between 11am to 2pm while those leaving the Klang Valley to Perak Tengah (Ipoh) and Melaka (Alor Gajah) are advised to start from 2pm to 6pm.
For those heading to the Klang Valley from Perlis and Kedah (Alor Setar) and Johor Selatan (Johor Baharu, Kota Tinggi) from May 3 to 5, are advised to start their journey between 6am to 8am.
Those heading into the city from Penang (Kepala Batas, Butterworth, Georgetown, Bayan Lepas), Perak Tengah (Ipoh), Johor Utara (Batu Pahat, Segamat and Muar) and from Melaka (Alor Gajah) are advised to enter the expressway from 10am to 2pm.
Those leaving from Perak Utara (Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Gerik), Perak Selatan (Bidor, Tapah, Teluk Intan, Lumut, Tanjung Malim); Melaka (Jasin, Melaka city) and Negeri Sembilan (Kuala Pilah, Port Dickson, Seremban) are advised to enter the expressway from 6pm to 12 midnight.
