Plus Malaysia Berhad (Plus) today announced that its highway users would be able to enjoy toll rebates on selected days during the Chinese New Year holidays.
Plus managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid in a statement today said the toll rebates would be given to users paying toll electronically using the PLUSMiles card, Touch 'n Go card and SmartTAG on Plus-operated highways.
"It is our way of rewarding our customers this festive season and is part of our efforts to encourage the public to switch to the electronic toll payment system which is easier and faster," she said.
She added that the move was also part of a traffic management strategy to disperse traffic and to encourage people to travel on non-peak days.
However, the toll rebates will not be offered to those paying toll electronically at the Bukit Kayu Hitam, Penang Bridge, Tanjung Kupang and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar toll plazas.
Class 1 vehicle users who pay toll electronically on Feb 7 and Feb 15 will be given a 20 per cent rebate and 30 per cent rebate on Feb 10.
The toll rebate can be redeemed at all Plus customer service centres from March 1 until May 31 this year.
Plus expects traffic on the North-South Expressway to increase by 30 per cent to 1.4 million vehicles daily this Chinese New Year holidays.
This is based on studies on travelling trends during the previous festive seasons.
"Paying toll electronically will result in smoother and faster passage at the toll plazas," Noorizah said.
"The PlusMiles card offers various benefits and rewards. To register and receive their PlusMiles cards instantly, the public can visit any of the customer service centres along the Plus highways," she added.
