Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived at Istana Besar, here, this afternoon to pay his last respects on Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim, who passed away yesterday.

The car carrying the prime minister and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was seen entering the arched gateway of the palace at 1pm.

For the dignitaries, the time for paying their last respects on the late Johor prince was between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm.

Prayers for Tunku Abdul Jalil was performed at Istana Besar and he will be laid to rest at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum, here, after Zohor prayers.

The coffin bearing the prince's remains will be taken on a "pedati" pulled by 30 members of the Askar Timbalan Setia Johor to the royal mausoleum, three kilometres away, via Jalan Ayer Molek.

Accompanying the remains will be the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and the Sultan's other children.

Tunku Abdul Jalil, 25, passed away at 7.11 pm yesterday at Sultanah Aminah Hospital, here, due to cancer.

He was the fourth of six children of Sultan Ibrahim and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris.
