Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Monday approved a special bonus of RM1,000 as a one-off payment in conjunction with Aidilfitri for staff of Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad (PNMB).
He said the bonus was awarded in appreciation of their hard work, especially in printing the ballot papers and the electoral rolls for the 13th general election held last May.
"I was informed that the management had sought special approval from the Finance Ministry as the PNMB staff had worked extra hard in printing the ballot papers and the electoral rolls, so much so that the opposition political parties were unable to furnish proof of their allegations of irregularities in the recent general election," he said.
"There have been all kinds of allegations but when asked to furnish proof (in the courts), they did not have any; every case was dismissed by the courts.
"This goes to show that their allegations are not true; the Holy Quran is the truth; the opposition allegations are not true," he said at the launch of the Mushaf Al-Quran Printing Centre at the PNMB headquarters in Jalan Chan Sow Lin, here.
Najib said it was hoped that the appreciation would spur the staff of PNMB to work even harder and be loyal to their company.
