Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak called on Muslims to strengthen unity through a common ground despite the differences in their political ideologies.
He said Muslims needed to stay united in the face of internal and external challenges and remain strong to deal with any form of threats.
"If possible we want Malaysia's Muslims to be a role model for other Islamic countries. As a result of the true Islamic principles we practice, we do not have conflicts like other Islamic countries.
"At present, there are 12 Islamic countries around the world grappling with various conflicts and causing a dim future for their citizens.
"It's a very different scenario here. We are blessed by Allah and therefore must safe guard our good fortune," he said after attending the Isyak and Terawih prayers with the residents of Kampung Ganchong Hulu at the village mosque here last night.
Najib earlier presented Hari Raya aid to 71 senior citizens, the underprivileged and single mothers from Kampung Ganchong Hulu, Kampung Ganchong Tengah and Kampung Kiambang.
Also present were State Assembly Speaker Datuk Ishak Muhammad and Pulau Manis assemblyman Khairuddin Mahmud.
