KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today visited the Kota Kinabalu COVID-19 vaccination centre at the Federal Government Administrative Complex here.
He arrived at 11 am and spent about half an hour inspecting the facility, accompanied by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor, state health director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi and state secretary Datuk Safar Untong.
Muhyiddin also witnessed frontliner Debby Marjezlina, 29, a dental assistant, receiving the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, administered by Kota Kinabalu Maternal and Child Health Clinic nurse Christelle Yvone Jitiol.
He also took the opportunity to spend some time talking with vaccine recipients and the staff involved.
The Prime Minister was also briefed by Dr Christina on the development of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme in Sabah.
Dr Christina said Muhyiddin was satisfied with the efforts made by the state health department in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
"He had some positive remarks, but I'm not sure if it was up to his expectations, but he knows that we are doing our best with the resources that we have," she said when met by reporters after the visit.
She also said that frontliners who received the vaccine today were the last group of 42,117 frontliners to receive the first dose of the vaccine in Sabah.
