KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today expressed his appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin for the invitation to the recently concluded BRICS Summit.
In a post on the X platform, he also thanked Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli for representing him in Kazan, highlighting Malaysia's commitment to elevating the nation's position and stance.
According to reports, Malaysia has been officially recognised as one of 13 new partner countries in BRICS, a bloc collectively accounting for one-fifth of global trade.
BRICS represents around 40 per cent of the global population and contributes a combined gross domestic product (GDP) of US$26.6 trillion (US$1 = RM4.34), or 26.2 per cent of the world's GDP, nearly matching the economic strength of the Group of Seven (G7).
