AMONG the headlines for Thursday, 1 July, 2021, Malaysia reported a total of 6,988 new COVID-19 cases within the past 24-hours.
According to the data from the Ministry of Health, Selangor leads the list once more with 2,885 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (988) and Negri Sembilan (692).
Meanwhile, Sarawak reported 544 cases, followed by Melaka (311), Johor (270), Kedah (250)and Sabah (232).
The states that saw fewer than 200 cases are Pahang with 195, followed by Penang (174), Perak (149), Labuan (129), Kelantan (108), Terengganu (50), Putrajaya (10) and Perlis (1).
Also, Australia's New South Wales state fears of new clusters as it reported a spike in new infections for a third straight day despite being in a lockdown. The state warned that significant numbers of new COVID-19 cases were being found in the community.
