AMONG the headlines for Tuesday, 25 May, 2021, Malaysia’s Health Ministry announces another record daily cases for the country with 7,289 new COVID-19 infections within the last 24 hours.
Daily cases have been above the 6,000-mark for the past seven consecutive days, with the infection rate today breaching the 7,000-mark, bringing the overall total to 525,889 since the pandemic arrived in Malaysia.
Also, Hong Kongers may only have a three-month window before the city’s first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines go out of date, a member of the government's vaccine task force warned today.
The vaccine hesitancy for both the Chinese Sinovac and German-made Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines has left officials' efforts slowing down, as they are counting on vaccination to reopen the economy.
