The last batch of 120 students from 1,300 students from poor families in the Pokok Sena parliamentary constituency who were allocated netbook, received their assistance from the federal government
today.
The students were among 38 school children who received netbooks provided by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in three phases since early this year.
Pokok Sena parliamentary coordinator Datuk Ahmad Lebai Sudin who is also the Pokok Sena Umno division head handed the netbook to 120 students from four schools at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Payong, near here today.
Ahmad Lebai said he would appeal for another 1,000 netbook from the MCMC to ensure more poor students received the netbooks next year.
He added that a broadband centre for Bukit Lada and Bukit Pinang was being build and expected to be completed by year end while another location was being identified for a similar centre in Derga.
