Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is leaving it to the police to take action following allegations several dignitaries (VIPs) had violated the Movement Control Order (MCO) by gathering during a visit.
According to him, it is up to the authorities to act on some police reports lodged by certain parties regarding the alleged violation of the MCO.
Ismail Sabri stressed that no one would escape the law if they had flouted the directives.
"I have mentioned that everyone is subjected to the law. No one is above the law. I understand that a police report has been made. We shall leave it to the police,” he told a media conference after chairing a special ministerial committee meeting on the MCO here today.
Since yesterday, photos of several dignitaries gathering during a visit have been circulating on social media, which many deemed to have ignored the need to practise social distancing, thus in violation of the MCO.
