Police arrest three members of 'Geng Tangki'

Three men, including one Rohingya, who was the gang leader, were arrested separately on June 11 in Manjoi.
Police arrested three men aged between 23 to 27 years believed to be members of 'Geng Tangki' involved in three robberies at petrol kiosks and a 24-hour convenience store here.
Ipoh District Police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said the three men, including one Rohingya, who was the gang leader, were arrested separately on June 11 in Manjoi.
"We believe the arrests can resolve three robberies at petrol kiosks and a convenience store involving losses of RM10,000," he told a press conference at Ipoh District Police Headquarters, here today.
Police also seized various items such as parang, samurai swords, small axes, mobile phones and two motorcycles believed used by the robbery gang.
The four cases are being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping.
Sum said police are tracing a man known as Muhammad Shafiq Soleehin Yusny, 22, who is believed to be directly involved with "Geng Tangki.''
