The Pahang police arrested three men and seized drugs worth RM523,575 in two separate cases in the state yesterday and last Wednesday.
Pahang Narcotics CID chief Supt Lam Thian Huat said from the two raids, the police seized 2,264 grams of heroin, 93.9 grams of syabu and 5,350 yaba pills, along with two vehicles worth about RM65,000.
"The first arrest was carried out at a restaurant in Kampung Pulau Serai, Pekan at 8.45 am on Wednesday, involving two men, aged 32 and 43.
"Upon inspecting the Volvo car used by the two suspects, the police discovered 2,264 grams of heroin worth RM339,600, and 93.9 grams of cocaine, worth RM23,475," he told reporters here today.
He said further investigations revealed that the two suspects were believed to have been involved in drug trafficking since August last year, and also had past drug-related criminal records.
In a separate raid, the police arrested a 22-year-old man at the parking lot of a petrol station in Jalan Teluk Sisek here, at 2.15 pm yesterday.
"During the arrest, the suspect was in a Proton Wira at the petrol station and after conducting checks, the police managed to find 5,350 yaba pills worth RM160,500 hidden in the vehicle," he said.
He said the suspect had been involved in drug trafficking around Kuantan and Pekan since June last year
Lam added that both cases were being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while the police were still tracking down other members of the syndicate.
