Police will be calling the Langkawi Member of Parliament Datuk Nawawi Ahmad over his statement that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is the 'Malaysian Official 1 (MO1)' mentioned in the US Department of Justice (DoJ) report.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police had received several reports on the matter and investigations would be carried out.
"We will be calling the MP concerned to record his statement soon," he told reporters at the conferment of ranks for senior police officers at Bukit Aman here.
Nawawi had earlier uploaded on his Facebook site that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was the MO1 responsible for the government based on the Federal Constitution.
DoJ mentioned MO1 in the lawsuit to seize properties acquired with funds allegedly siphoned from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
