The police have confirmed receiving a threatening letter bearing the words, 'IS Threat', against national leaders and some senior government officials.
The letter, supposedly from the Daish militant group, was sent to the Nilai police station about 1pm yesterday.
Nilai police chief Supt Zaldino Zaludin on Tuesday said the police were in the midst of identifying the sender.
He declined to comment whether the letter was linked to militancy.
Meanwhile, state police chief Datuk Jaafar Mohd Yusof said he would issue a statement soon on the matter.
The letter contained two sheets of white A4 paper. On the first page was written 'IS Threat' and contained nine images of prominent national figures and a Myanmar leader.
The images are those of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak; Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi; Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak; Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor; Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said; Home Deputy Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed; Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar; Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali; and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.
In addition to these images, there were also the words, ‘Tunggu Surat Rasmi Al-Fatihah’ ('Wait for the Official Letter Al-Fatihah').
