Police deny alleged trespass and damage to the fence at Kumancan's in laws

V. Kumancan, 32, a parent who is facing a charge of intimidating SK Sri Pristana school headmaster Mohd Nasir Mohd Noor, claimed the investigative officer Inspector Mohd Hazrul from the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters had tore down the fence of the house to gain access to see him.

Sungai Buloh district police chief, Supt Junaidi Bujang said police had gone to Taman Sri Pristana in Saujana Utama to see Kumancan to facilitate the investigation on the criminal intimidation charge.

“On midnight of Aug 24 , the investigative officer had arrived at the housing at Taman Sri Pristana in Saujana Utama with a patrol car. The housing are is a gated-community and the investigative officer was accompanied by a block chief to Kumancan’s in-law shouse to see him,” he told reporters at his office in Sungai Buloh district police headquarters.

He added the investigative officer had asked the house owner about Kumancan’s whereabouts but the owner did not to open the front gate and door and had to communication via a distance.

“The owner didn’t believe the officer was a policeman, so in order to show his identity, Inspector Mohd Hazrul had to kneel down and went through a hole on the fence before flashing his police identification card to the owner of the house. The fence had a hole already even before the officer arrived,” said Junaidi.

“The owner did not want to open the door and both of them just communicated with front grill closed.

“We had asked Kumancan to cooperate by coming to the district police headquarters so that his statement can be recorded on the charge.”

After the visit by the officer to Kumancan’s in-law house, he then lodged a report about the behaviour of the investigative officer.

“Kumancan earlier claimed he is illiterate but on the next day, he personally wrote the police report about the visit by the investigative officer and asking the OCPD to investigate the officer.

“However, in this police report he never mentioned or alleged that there was a trespass and damage to the fence of his mother in-law’s house. This is a contrast to what has been reported in The Malay Mail,” said Junaidi.

“So, who is the real liar now?,” he asked.

Inspector Mohd Hazrul went to the house personally because Kumancan did not want to give cooperation to facilitate the investigation.

“He promised us several times to cooperate by coming to the district police headquarters but it never materialised. We arrested Kumancan because of the criminal intimidation report against him and we gave him police bail after his statement was recorded,” he said.

SK Sri Pristana administration was in ‘hot-soup’ after photographs showing the non-Muslim students eating in the shower room went to viral on Facebook, sparking a protest among the parents.

Police have since received 21 reports regarding the issue.

Six reports were lodged by the public who saw the pictures of the pupils via Facebook while, 13 reports were lodged by the parents and guardian of the pupils and four reports were come from teachers and headmaster of the school.
