NOOR RASHID: The police will investigate the case from every angle and treat it seriously until Morais is found.
Police have ruled out the possibility that the Attorney-General Chambers' Appellate and Trial Division deputy chief Anthony Kevin Morais, reported missing since Friday, was kidnapped.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said this was because his family and closest friends had not received any demand for ransom from any party.
"His case is still classified as missing person and I urge the parties concerned against speculating on the case, as this can affect police's investigations.
"The police will investigate the case from every angle and treat it seriously until Morais is found," he said.
He said this to reporters after launching the Police's 2014 Excellent Service Awards Ceremony at Dewan Theatrette, Menara 1 in Bukit Aman, on Tuesday.
Noor Rashid said police would also analyse Morais' travel routes and places he often visited to help in the investigation.
Yesterday, the police set up a special task force to investigate Morais' disappearance, which is headed by Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad.
Morais was reported last seen leaving his flat at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Friday for his office in Putrajaya.
He was also reported to be driving a grey Proton Perdana with registration number WA6264Q.
