Police deny rumours of 'syndicate who rob and kill women'
Asmawati advised the public not to easily believe in rumours spread via unconfirmed sources.
The police today denied rumours that a syndicate has 'robbed and killed several women' in the capital city.
Asst Chief of Inspector General Secretariat (Corporate Communications), ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the rumours which spread via WhatsApp and Facebook were untrue.
"Rumours that several women were robbed and stabbed to death at Puduraya, Bukit Bintang and KLCC by a syndicate are untrue.
"Such false information which spread in July 2012 has returned to create fear among the public. The police have not received reports of such incidents."
Asmawati advised the public not to easily believe in rumours spread via unconfirmed sources.
