Police deny story of girl raped, found dead in biscuit tin

The police have denied an incident whereby a child, said to be a rape victim was found dead in a biscuit box, as spread on the WhatsApp application.

Kota Kinabalu City police chief, ACP M. Chandra said the incident had actually taken place in Jakarta, Indonesia, and not as spread on the social media.

He said the police had not received any report from the public on the incident.

"The public are advised not to simply spread wrong information to the public because this can cause people to become restless," he said in a statement here Monday.
