Police deny victim of hand grenade blast has gone missing

"All 14 victims have been identified and initial investigation found that it did not involve terrorist elements.

"It was an act of revenge involving two rival triads. Let us investigate to identify the suspects," he told reporters after the opening of 'Karnival 1KDN' in the carpark of Stadium Negeri here, today.

The opening was done by Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem. Also present was Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Khalid said the police had information on the rival triads before the blast took place.

Asked whether the police will intensify operation against triads because of the blast, he said they are already combating triads via Op Cantas Khas.

"Of course, this is an ongoing thing. Ops Cantas Khas will be conducted on a bigger scale," he added.

Car jockey Tiong Kwong Yie, 36, was killed while 12 others were hurt in a grenade blast in a nightclub in Sun Complex, Bukit Bintang on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Khalid said the allocation of RM9.1 billion to PDRM in Budget 2015 will help improve the efficiency of its members in performing their tasks.

"I am confident that with over 11,000 members and 1,000 motorcycles for the Motorcycle Patrol Unit, crime prevention will become more efficient.
