The Kedah police regard the murders of three siblings from Alor Semela, Jalan Datuk Kumbar, here in November last year as solved with the finding of several physical evidence following the arrest of the
two suspects yesterday.
Kedah Police Chief Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim said the suspects, both 19, were brought to the scene of the incident in Alor Senibong yesterday where the evidence were found. However, he declined to elaborate on the evidence that were found so as not to jeopardize the case.
On the suspects that were detained yesterday, he said one of them had previous records for house breaking and drug abuse. He said this at news conference at the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters here today.
The suspects were detained at their respective homes in Kampung Gelam, near Jalan Datuk Kumbar, near here last Wednesday between 5.30pm and 11pm.
The suspects, who are unemployed, were detained under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The case involved the murder of Noor Syafikah Nadia Rusdi, 14, whose body was found in a padi field in Alor Senibong at 3.45pm on November 23,2013.
The body of her sisters, Nur Izzati Husna, 12, and Puteri Nurul Akma, 3, were found at 4pm the next day in an irrigation canal at Kampung Padang Tani, Langgar, about 3.5km from where their elder sister was found.
The trio were said to have left their house on a motorcycle at 7.30pm on November 29 for the house of a friend, Noor Syafikah Nadia in Kampung Gelam, not far from their village.
