Police have yet to receive a report from Anti-Crime Watchdog Malaysia (MyWatch) chairman R. Sri Sanjeevan who had claimed he was nearly run over by unknown assailants in a Perodua Kancil car in Taman Sornam, Bahau yesterday.
Jempol OCPD Supt Hamzah Alias when contacted by Astro AWANI said police have yet to receive any report with regard to the incident.
“No police report has been lodged on the incident. I would like to urge him (R. Sri Sanjeevan to come forward and lodge a report so that the matter can be investigated,” he said.
On Friday Sanjeevan had claimed on his Twitter page that he was nearly run over and attacked by two men in a Perodua Kancil car sporting the license plate WJH 2664.
He had managed to escape unharmed in the 5.30pm incident, exactly a year after an attempted murder on him on Feb. 27, 2013.
In that incident last year, Sanjeevan had been shot in the chest by a motorcycle pillion rider while he was stopped at a traffic light junction near his home in Bahau.
He survived the murder attempt but had slipped into a coma and was in critical condition while in hospital.
According to Sanjeevan, the incident on Friday took place after he had uploaded several photos of a premise he believes was a prostitution den in Taman Sornam.
“While I was travelling in my car, my driver told me he had noticed a car following us,” Sanjeevan said.
His driver then headed to Taman ACBE located near Taman Sornam but the Perodua Kancil had still stayed on their tail.
“Fearing for our safety, my driver sped towards Bahau Business Center and while we were stopped at one junction, I had managed to snap a picture of the car and saw two men in their 30s inside,” he said.
Sanjeevan then got out of his car and ran into a coffee shop.
“My driver drove off and the Perodua Kancil continued to follow the car. My driver claimed the Perodua Kancil had at one point blocked his way and started screaming at him but he couldn’t make out what they were saying,” he said.
Sanjeevan said he believed he had been attacked because of the photos he took of the prostitution den.
He plans to lodge a police report on the incident soon.
