Police have identified the prime suspect, a male in his 40s, believed to be involved in the hand grenade explosion incident in front of a night club at Sun Complex in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on Oct 9.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajudin Md Isa said this was based on the image recorded by the closed-circuit television (CCTV) at the scene of the incident.
"However results from the CCTV footage images show at least two unidentified men were suspected to be also involved in the incident.
"Following the discovery of the images, the police forensics team has intensified its efforts to obtain the assistance of other agencies to analyse them," he told a media conference here today.
He said the suspect's information and image would be released to the media soon.
On the recordings of conversation from the five men who were arrested yesterday, Tajudin said four of them were personal bodyguards at the night club.
Yesterday police arrested five men, aged between 25 and 46, at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters to help in investigations and all the suspects were remanded until this Monday.
He said the police were also in the process of tracking visitors to the entertainment centre on the night of the incident to assist investigations.
Last Oct 9, a car jockey, Tiong Kwong Yie, 36, was killed and 12 others were injured, including foreign tourists in the explosion believed to be related to territorial dispute by secret triads in the area.
