The Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) will investigate whether the recent disappearance of Senior Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Kevin Morais is linked to the murder of AmBank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the police were also commited in solving this 'mysterious' case.
"We will investigate any possibilities relating to this case and our investigations will be based on facts. We want to solve this case," he told reporters after the 2014 Excellence Service Award ceremony at Bukit Aman in Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 9,485 police officers including Selangor police chief Datuk Abu Samah and Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief DCP Datuk Law Hong Soon today received the Excellence Service Award.
Hussain, 75, was shot dead on July 28, 2013.
His wife, Chong Mei Kuen, 49, was injured when the two were shot from close range at a car park after they had emerged from the Chinese temple in Lorong Ceylon.
Hussain took two bullets in the chest and died on the spot while his wife was injured in the left wrist and right thigh.
It was reported that Najadi and Mei Kuen were attending a disscusion on a multimillion ringgit land deal with another individual when the tragedy befell them.
Earlier, The Rakyat Post reported that Kevin Morais might knew about the content of the discussion attended by Najadi and his wife two years ago, which lead to Morais' disappearance.
Morais was reported missing by his family on Friday evening. He was reportedly last seen leaving his Menara Duta apartment here that morning, heading to work.
A burnt car was found near the palm oil plantation at Kampung Sungai Samak in Hutan Melintang Sunday morning, two days after his disappearance, but the police said it was too early to link the two incidents together.
