The police are in the midst of tracking down the first individual who distributed photos of a two-year-old girl, found dead in a vacant terrace house at Taman Perumahan Permint Seberang Paka on Tuesday.

Terengganu CID chief ACP K.Manoharan condemned the insensitive act by the unknown individual, which has caused a stir among social media users.

"We don't know who first spread the photos in the social sites. Maybe the person involved arrived at the place where the body was found, before the police, and snapped some pictures. We are not sure. We are looking into this," Manoharan told Astro AWANI.

Manoharan also denied that the photo was first spread by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

Nursyafiqah Abdullah, who went missing since January 17, was found by a 31-year old security guard, after he noticed a stench and went into the empty house to inspect it.

It was reported that her mother, Rabiatul Adawiyah Mamat, 28, left the child inside her unlocked car in front of a restaurant in Kuala Paka, to meet her friend.

When Rabiatul Adawiyah returned to her car later, the child was missing.

She later lodged a police report, saying that she had received death threats before this.

The act of spreading Nursyafiqah's photos in the social media, drew flak from some users, including Former Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

Musa said those who spread such photos are insensitive and like violence.
