Police looking for Indonesian woman to assist in Seremban murder

Police are looking for a female Indonesian national to assist in a murder case involving a 78-year-old woman, at Taman Paroi Jaya, near here yesterday.

Seremban district police chief, ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said police were looking for the woman, in her early 30s, as she was being hired as a temporary housemaid and was believed to have been the last individual with the victim before the incident occurred.

He said in a statement here that the victim was found at 7.30pm by her daughter in a double-storey bungalow at Taman Paroi Jaya, before she was confirmed dead by a medical team.

The victim's hands were tied with a towel and there were strangulation marks on her neck, he said.

"There were no signs of injury or cuts on the victim's head but there were bruises and scratch marks on her neck and arms and a small cut on her right index finger while a chain and ring that she was wearing mere missing and were believed to have been taken by the suspects.

"A Police Forensics Team (D10) from the Negeri Sembilan Contingent Police Headquarters found several fingerprints at the scene of the crime. Police were also gathering information on the suspects," he said.

Muhamad Zaki said police believed the crime was committed by individuals known to the victim as there were no signs of a break-in found.

The case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
