Melaka Police have expressed confidence that there are no elements of terrorism in the state linked to Daish or Daish militant leader Muhammad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi who has been killed in Syria.
Its chief, Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan, said the police would continue to conduct monitoring.
"We are also monitoring the Southeast Asian Daish milintant leader's hometown of Masjid Tanah and, so far, we have found no suspicious activities or any links to Daish," he told reporters after attending the monthly assembly of the Melaka Police Contingent here today.

Abdul Jalil said the police also received good cooperation from the public who provided information to help nip any problem in the bud.
In another development, Abdul Jalil said the state government had approved the building of a police station and a mosque on Pulau Besar.
"We're going to place a number of policemen on a permanent basis on Pulau Besar, and have requested the state government to also build residential facilities for the personnel," he said.
Bernama had reported that residents and traders of Pulau Besar had requested that at least a police post be set up there to ensure the safety of the local population and tourists. -- Bernama
