A suspected drug dealer was detained by the police today following a 10-kilometre chase from Taman Datuk Senu, Sentul to an area near Taman Layang-Layang, Kepong here Tuesday.
In the 3.15pm incident, the man, in his 30s, was spotted behaving suspiciously in the car by a motorcycle patrol unit (URB) policeman.
Despite an order to stop, the driver of the Proton Perdana sped recklessly towards Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) before heading to Sungai Buloh.
"There was a male passenger in the car. Three vehicles were rammed by the suspect before the URB policeman fired two shots, hitting the car's tire and rear," he told Bernama.
The burst tyre caused the man to lost control of the car before it stopped.
The driver was nabbed while the passenger escaped. From the car, the police seized syabu and ganja, believed to be meant for the Klang Valley market. -- BERNAMA
