Police nab two for alleged involvement in 'romance scam'

The police have nabbed two individuals, including a Nigerian, for their alleged involvement in a 'romance scam' in Damansara Damai, here yesterday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the arrests through his official Twitter today.
It was learnt that the scam members had targeted local women through social media and offered relationships before duping them by asking money.
Khalid said the duo were arrested by the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID).
With the arrests, the police had solved 14 such cases, he said.
"Well done CCID @RMP for nabbing Romance Scam (members) in Damansara Damai yesterday and arrested two individuals (one Nigerian), solving 14 cases linked to #GoRMPGo," he said on Twitter.
