Zaldino said further investigation into the case was being done.
Three people, including a woman and her boyfriend, were arrested on suspicion of hiding a birth by burying the stillborn baby near a house in Dangi, Kuala Pilah.
Nilai police chief Supt Zaldino Zaludin said the three suspects, in their 20s, were arrested Tuesday after the police found the remains of the baby in a hole in a bush near the house.
"Initial investigation found that the 25-year-old woman had given birth to the baby last Sunday in a house in Nilai, but the baby died at birth.
"Her boyfriend and his younger brother then wrapped the baby's remains in a cloth and buried it in a bush near the house in Dangi, Kuala Pilah," he said in a statement here Tuesday.
At 6 pm, the forensic team dug the hole in the presence of the suspects and found the remains. It was later taken to Seremban Hospital for post mortem.
Zaldino said further investigation into the case was being done.
