Five individuals, including a Singaporean man, are in remand for three days from today to assist police investigation on the nude sports festival allegedly held at Pantai Teluk Kampi in the Penang National Park.
Barat Daya police chief Supt Lai Fah Hin said the Singaporean national, in his 30s, surrendered himself at the Barat Daya police headquarters Saturday.
"The five individuals, comprising two women and three men aged between 24 and 57, were brought to the George Town Magistrate's Court at 11 am today for the police to obtain an order to remand them," he said when contacted.
He said two of them were believed to be responsible for organising the nudist event.
So far, he said, seven of the 15 individuals involved in the nudist event had been detained.
The so-called nude sports became public knowledge when a video, lasting five minutes and 52 seconds, and titled 'Nude Festival in Teluk Bahang, Pulau Pinang' went viral on the social network.
It depicted nine nude men and six women body-painting, dancing and participating in various sport activities on the beach.
