Police to probe into videos of man using phone, smoking while driving express bus

Police will investigate the videos showing an express bus driver using a mobile phone and smoking while driving to the Tangkak toll Plaza from Kuala Lumpur which have gone viral over the Internet Monday.
Muar district police headquarters public order and traffic chief ASP Suhaimi Ahmad said police would look into the videos, believed to have been uploaded by the individual who recorded the incident.
"We will look into the videos, as well as the photos shared, and will summon the driver to assist in the investigation," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Suhaimi said the police would also contact the bus company in order to ascertain the identity of the driver before taking further action.
"We look at this matter seriously and further investigation will be done before opening an investigation paper on the case," he added.
Meanwhile, efforts to seek clarification over the videos from the bus company, failed.
Two video clips which lasted 17 and 19 minutes, respectively, were posted by a Facebook user by the name of Firdaus Wong Wai Hung (Official) at 2.05pm on Dec 26.
Firdaus Wong claimed that the videos were uploaded while he was on board the bus heading to Muar from the South Integrated Terminal in Bandar Tasik Selatan.
As at 7.20am today, the postings have received some 3,900 views. - Bernama
