Police are looking for a three-year-old boy who was forced to consume drugs by his mother's ex-boyfriend, video clips of which went viral on social media recently.
Kedah CID chief, SAC Mior Farid AlAtrash Wahid said the boy's 53-year-old grandmother, who lives in Gurun, lodged a police report at 4.39 pm yesterday after she saw the clips.
"The victim's grandmother saw seven video recordings (of the incident) on Monday which were sent by her daughter-in-law's former boyfriend. In the recordings, her grandson was without a shirt and intoxicated after being given syabu by the suspect.
"The victim's grandmother was unsure whether the incident she saw via the video recordings was true or not because her grandson stayed with his biological mother and not with her former boyfriend," he said in a statement, yesterday.
He said the grandmother also wanted to claim guardianship of her grandson as she feared for his safety.
He said police were seeking the suspect who had been identified and efforts to save the unfortunate boy were underway.
