Police have issued a warning order today prohibiting four groups from conducting rallies at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said, apart from Bersih 5.0 and Red Shirts, two other groups are expected to stage their own assemblies at the same location.
"Apart from the two groups, we know through social media that there might be two other groups that will rally on Saturday, namely the White Shirts and Black Shirts groups.
"The police have found out that the four groups will hold rallies at the same place and on the same date.
"These groups have their own different thoughts. This likely would cause misunderstanding and create chaos," he told a press briefing at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters today.
However, he said, police will carry out strict control to ensure security and public order during the rallies.
Bersih' and Red Shirts' notices for assembly were not processed before because they have failed to obtain a permission from Kuala Lumpur City Hall as required under Section 11 of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
To date, the police have also yet to receive the notices to renew the location of rallies from the two groups.
Meanwhile, Amar Singh also reminded that the use of drones without permission from the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia during the assembly, is totally prohibited.
