Police, security council cooperation will be boosted to identify threat - IGP
Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said cooperation was important to get rid of criminal masterminds and simultaneously identify suitable measures to boost Sabah's security system.
The Royal Malaysian Police and all agencies under the National Security Council will intensify cooperation to identify the enemies within, who pose a major threat to security in Sabah.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said cooperation was important to get rid of criminal masterminds and simultaneously identify suitable measures to boost Sabah's security system.
"We are always boosting cooperation among agencies in implementing more effective operations and sharing opinions to increase existing effectiveness," he said.
He said this at a media conference, together with Malaysian Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin after the 71st National Operation Planning Committee Meeting today.
Meanwhile, on developments involving the murder of engineer Bernard Then Ted Fen by the southern Philippine-based militant group, Abu Sayyaf, the IGP said the police had sent a sample of the DNA to determine if the headless body found in southern Philippines was indeed, the victim's.
"The application to extradite two suspects, who are now being detained by the Philippine authorities, has also been forwarded with a request that the duo continue to be detained until the process was completed.
