Police seek information on armed robbery near Taman Melawati

Police are urging those with information about the armed gang robbery at a restaurant along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) near Taman Melawati, to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hamzah Alias said police are currently investigating the incident based on the CCTV footage obtained from the restaurant.

“Those with information regarding the incident can come forward and assist investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery,” he said when contacted.

In the incident on Saturday night, six men wearing motorcycle helmets and armed with parangs entered the premises and brandishing the weapons to the victims before asking them to hand over their valuables.
