Chan whose real name is Chan Song Kang was among the 71 individuals who received the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) award which carries the title 'Datuk'.
This received mixed reactions from various quarters who questioned Chan’s contribution to the country while some argued that the title should have been conferred to a more deserving individual.
