The Royal Malaysian Police will be contacting Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to record his statement after he had allegedly urged Malays consumers to boycott Chinese businessmen for refusing to reduce the prices of services and goods despite the drop in oil prices.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar on his Twitter page wrote that the statement could disrupt racial harmony in this country.

Ismail’s statement which was posted on his Facebook page had received mixed responses and criticisms from various quarters including those from the opposition camp and Barisan Nasional.

Ismail refuted allegation by writing a Facebook comment citing that the message was not directed to Chinese community but the businessmen who seemed apprehensive to reduce the prices of goods and services after the drop of oil prices.
