Police to track down Uber driver who robbed passenger

The police are in the midst of tracking down an Uber driver who allegedly robbed an Indonesian factory operator of RM2,000 in cash and valuables last Saturday in Bayan Lepas.
The victim, Yab Melva Novasia Sinaga reported her losses as comprising RM1,150, two million Rupiahs (RM613), necklace and handphone.
Southwest District police chief, Supt Anuar Omar said according to the victim's police report, the Uber driver forcibly took RM100 for the fare; RM250 for scolding him, RM800 and the Rupiahs, necklace and the handphone.
He said the incident occurred about 5.30pm at a dead end after the woman had called for an Uber for a ride home in Batu Maung.
