Terengganu police are tracking down two Facebook users who made derogatory comments about the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, which have since gone viral on social media.
Terengganu police chief Datuk Rosli Ab Rahman said police viewed the matter seriously and were working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to track down who were the real owners of the accounts.
"We detected the comments going viral since yesterday and are tracking down the suspects... we will not compromise with anyone found committing such acts," he told Bernama.
It is understood police have received two reports on the matter.
Rosli added that preliminary investigations found one of the Facebook accounts belonged to a student of a university in Syria while the other of a teeenager from Dungun, Terengganu. -- Bernama
