Police tracking two men involved in robbery-cum-road accident incident
Kota Kinabalu police chief, ACP M. Chandra said in the 6.45am incident, a 27-year-old woman was bundled into a Proton Iris car driven by the suspects.
Police are looking for two men believed to be involved in a robbery-cum-road accident case which occurred behind a bank in Jalan Gaya here early Wednesday morning.
Kota Kinabalu police chief, ACP M. Chandra said in the 6.45am incident, a 27-year-old woman was bundled into a Proton Iris car driven by the suspects.
Chandra said while inside the car, one of the suspects tried to grab her handbag but he was thrown out of the car after a struggle with the victim.
"The victim's screams and relentless struggle distracted the driver's attention as he veered into the opposite lane before colliding into an oncoming Toyota Hilux," he said in a statement here.
The woman managed to escape and lodged a police report while the two suspects fled the scene, he said.
Chandra added that the car used by the suspects was reported missing on Jan 14 while the registration number was false.
