Police tracking two men for starting fire in front of lawyer's office
ZAINUDDIN: The forensic team found a blue container, a lighter and a crowbar allegedly used in the act
Police are tracking two men suspected of starting a fire in front of a lawyer's office in Wisma Cosway, Jalan Raja Chulan Saturday morning.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said they received a report of a fire in front of the office of Wong & Chua Advocates & Solicitor at about 7am yesterday.
"The control centre ordered a patrol car and three fire engines from Pudu, Jalan Hang Tuah and Sri Rampai stations to the scene," he said in a statement.
On arrival, the forensic team then found a blue container, a lighter and a crowbar allegedly used in the act.
Zainuddin said based on CCTV footage, the two suspects believed, to be locals arrived in a grey Honda City.
The suspects wore a hat, coat and face mask to hide their identity.
"The suspects then went to the fifth floor using the lift carrying a container of kerosene and a crowbar and stopped in front of the lawyer's office.
"They then started a fire by throwing a bottle of oil at the office door and fled the scene using the lift," he added.
The case is investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for arson.
