Police to use hybrid patrol cars, electric motorcycles early October
The use of hybrid engines is expected to save up to 35 per cent in petrol cost, he said.
Come early October, the Royal Malaysian Police will begin using hybrid patrol cars and electric motorcycles, in a move expected to save 35 per cent on petrol costs.
Bukit Aman Logistics Department director Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said 2,000 hybrid patrol cars and 30 electric motorcycles would be distributed nationwide to monitor and eradicate crime.
"The use of hybrid engines is expected to save up to 35 per cent in petrol cost and reduce carbon emission by up to 30 per cent," he said after attending a programme here Saturday.
The three-day programme was attended by 75 secondary school students from among police families, and police cadets aimed at educating them on the need to protect the environment.
