Policeman attacked in Nilai, 7 Pakistani men detained
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police were still investigating the cause of the 4pm incident.
Police arrested seven Pakistani men believed to have been involved in a group that attacked a policeman at a carpet shop in Nilai 3, Negeri Sembilan, yesterday.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police were still investigating the cause of the 4pm incident.
"We are investigating the incident... if the policeman was attacked for no reason then he should be defended," he told a press conference at the launching of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Song 'Cemerlang' (Outstanding) and the PDRM Sports Council's Flag handing ceremony in conjunction with the World Police and Fire Games 2017, here today.
He said all the suspects were arrested under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.
"Initial probe found that there was a possibility of a misunderstanding and we will conduct a thorough investigation and action will be taken," he said.
According to Noor Rashid, all suspects have been remanded since yesterday to assist investigations.
