Poll: How confident are you that poultry slaughtered in markets are halal?

Kedah Islamic Religious Department (JAIK) on Thursday, found three workers slaughtering chickens at the Peremba market, Alor Setar, without conforming to the Islamic requirements.

Most of them have found a new tactic to shorten the chicken’s bleeding by placing the chicken in the hot water for instant processing.

The centre has been given a week to ensure the standards, including aspects of slaughtering, processing and hygiene observed before the re-examination at the centre.
